Time to Cowboy up!

“According to a certain person, a number of years ago, the late Matsuguma Kyoan told this story:

In the practice of medicine there is a difference of treatment according to the Yin and Yang of men and women. There is also a difference in pulse. In the last fifty years, however, men’s pulse has become the same as women’s. Noting this, in the treatment of eye disease I applied women’s treatment to men and found it suitable. When I observed the application of men’s treatment to men, there was no result. Thus I knew that men’s spirit had weakened and that they had become the same as women, and the end of the world would come. Since I have witnessed this with certainty, I kept it a secret.

When looking at the men of today with this in mind, those who could be thought to have woman’s pulse are many indeed, and those who seem like real men few. Because of this, if one were to make a little effort, he would be able to take the upper hand quite easily. That there are few men who are really able to cut well in beheadings is further proof that men’s courage has waned. And when one comes to speak of kaishaku (the assistant at seppuku, Ritual suicide, who administered the coup de grace by beheading the condemned man), it has become and age of men who are prudent and clever at making excuses. Forty or fifty years ago, when such things as matanuki (a practice of piercing one’s own thigh with a sword or some sharp object as a demonstration of courage) were considered manly, a man wouldn’t show an unscarred thigh to his fellows, so he would pierce it himself.

All of man’s work is a bloody business. The fact, today, is considered foolish, affairs are finished cleverly with words alone, and jobs that require effort are avoided. I would like young men to have an understanding of this.” – Yamamoto Tsunetomo, The Hagakure

NOTES: I too would like men to understand this. After watching the opening ceremonies in Beijing China for the Olympics and witnessing the discipline of the Chinese people, I started to wonder about America and its youth, especially the young men. How many know discipline? How many know pain and suffering? This is what makes a man, what makes a Warrior. To feel pain and be proud of it, use it motivate and help to push you beyond your own thought limitations. This cannot be taught in a video game or read in a book, it must be experienced in life, in reality. There a few men in our society and because there are few men and so many single parent families with women raising young men, the soul of man is changing. Young men are being taught to get in touch with their feelings, it’s ok to cry, be comfortable with your soft side, it’s acceptable to have alternative lifestyles but, these are the attributes of a woman and it is not natural for men to take on woman’s energy. This throws things out of natural balance and weakens the spine of American’s young men. We need to get back to the definitive line of men being men and women being women. It is ok to be a man and act like a man there should be nothing to hide or be ashamed of. Be rough and tumble, get dirty, skin an knee and rub some dirt in it (figuratively of course), suck up those tears and be a man. If a woman does not like that, it is ok, because she is a woman and does not understand.

The Order of the Black Shamrock

The Order of the Knights of the Black Shamrock is a good and noble Order ordained and established on this day 19 November, in the year of our Lord 2008.

The aims and goals of this order are to promote and uphold the virtues of the Noble Warrior, the undying worth of the ideals of chivalry, and to espouse the value and worthiness of these ideals to those who would take interest in them. Members of the Order are entrusted with the noble charge of passing this legacy to the next generations, our youth, our sons and our daughters. The mentoring of the next generation through deeds and by example of these noble ideals shall be among the most revered and honored that a member of the Order of The Black Shamrock can enjoin. This is a sacred trust and a noble duty entrusted to all who are members. Not all who feel compelled to join this order need be required to fight with fist and arms as there are those whose voice, words, and deeds are their sword and shield and are the most valued in their time of need. For there are times when a sharp wit and a pointed pen are more telling than a sharp blade or a true aim.

A warrior is one who stands against the tide of public opinion and self compromise whose cause is just and right. He is willing to fight in the best manner unto each man, against evil, tyranny and injustice. And, he will continue to fight even if alone against overwhelming odds, for his will is strengthened by truth and righteous conviction, knowing also, in his heart of hearts, that a man who stands with his convictions never stands alone.

If you are one of such standards and ideals then the Noble Order of The Black Shamrock will welcome you to its ranks.

Real Words

So its been a while and right now I have nothing enlightening to say so you will get the rel deal. Life is tough and harsh and if you cant handle that to F'n bad cause it aint gonna change. I have so many things and people walk in and out of my life, if I spend a few minutes contemplating the meaning of it all I would never leave the meditation stump I sit on to meditate. And yes Warriors do meditate, it helps to ground us and focus us.

Sometimes you have to focus on a specific punch other times the combination and other times the entire fight. I am in it for the long haul and will not quit on anything and anyone. So right now I am sucking it up and calling on the Black wolf for power to get me throught the next few days, then it will be time to let the White wolf run wild for a while to ensure there is balance in my life.

Fight the Good fight ALWAYS!

Excerpt from Boondock Saints II “All Saints Day”

This is a dream sequence with Connor MacManus, Murphy MacManus and “Rocco”; these words could not ring truer or more accurate for a Warrior.

Connor, Murphy and Rocco are sitting at a bar as a black cat walks across the bar (refer back to Boondock Saints 1). Rocco pours 3 shots of (nothing other than BUSHMILLS Irish Whiskey), and offers a toast and follows it with the word “Slanja”

Connor & Murphy (together):
Slanja
Murphy:
You know, he was sort of a badass though, wasn't he? (Rocco died in Boondock Saints 1 and they are referring to him in the past tense because they know he died)
Connor:

Shades of Eastwood.
Murphy:
Charlie Bronson.
Rocco:
Duke Fuckin' Wayne!
Connor & Murphy:
DUKE FUCKIN' WAYNE!

The 3 are now on a roof top over looking the city and big buildings and sky scrappers

Rocco:
Men build things, then we die. It's in our fucking DNA! THAT'S WHAT WE DO!
Murphy:
And when it all falls down?
Rocco:
We build it right back up again.
Connor:
But this time bigger. BETTER!
Rocco:
Look! Look what we can do. Look how fuckin' beautiful we are. You think the men that built all this had it easy?
Murphy:
Hard men!
Connor:
Doing hard shit!
Rocco:
and that gives me a hard on... But not in a gay way or anything like that.
Murphy:
No, 'course not
Connor:
Yeah it goes without sayin'

They are now on an indoor ice rink with the lights dimmed down

Rocco:
I am so sick of all of this self help, twelve step, leftover hippie generation bullshit!
Connor:
Now they don't want you to do anything, right? Just sit there... Don't drink....
Murphy:
Don't smoke, Don't drive fast.
Connor, Murphy & Rocco:
Kiss my ass!
Rocco:
Fuck it! Do it all I say!
Do you think Duke Wayne spent all of his time talking about his feelings with a fuckin' therapist?
Connor:
There's no fucking way he did!
Rocco:
John Wayne died with five pounds of undigested red meat in his ass.
Now that's a man!
Real men hide their feelings. Why?
Connor, Murphy & Rocco:
BECAUSE IT'S NONE OF YOUR FUCKIN' BUSINESS!
Rocco:
Men do not cry.
Men do not pout.
Men jack you in the fuckin' jaw and say...

Out of the darknes skates in Detective Greenly in a white hockey uniform, he stops hard on his skates and takes a slap shot at a puck ...

Detective Greenly:
Thanks for comin' out.

Now, this is way better when you see it in the movie but you get the idea … matter of fact, go out, rent the movie, and see for yourself, this is some good Warrior mind set and a great movie!

Some poetic words of wisdom and justice

Who are you to look down at what I believe? I’m on to you thinking and how you deceive. Well, you cant abuse me, I wont stand no more, yes, I know the reasons yes, I know the score.

I am, and I’ll be, I will, you’ll see, I am and I’ll be, I am, I’m me.

How I tried to please you, live the way you said, do the things like you do like the living dead! Then the truth it hit me, got me off my knees, it’s my life I’m living, I’ll live as I please!

I am, and I’ll be, I will, you’ll see, I am and I’ll be, I am, I’m me.

Now’s the time to stand tall, start your life anew, freedom lies in your heart, now’s the time for you.

I am, and I’ll be, I will, you’ll see, I am and I’ll be, I am, I’m me.

----and then there is more------

We're not gonna take it, no we aint gonna take it! We're not gonna take it anymore.

We've got the right to choose and there ain't no way we're losin', This is our life - this is our song. We'll fight the powers that be, just Don't pick our destiny 'cause- You don't know us, you don't belong.

Oh you're so condescending, your gall is never ending, we don't want nothing - not a thing from you, Your life is trite and jaded - boring and confiscated. If thats your best your best won't do

we're right, We're free, We'll fight, You'll see!

I am, I'm me & We’re not gonna take it – Dee Snider “Twisted Sister”

Peace be with you,
